I am using Thunderbird in my job and QuickFilters is a valuable addition. I
have noticed that when adding a new e-mail address on an existing filter, this
new address is added at the end making me scroll down to find it and edit it.
Can this new mail address appear first in the list?

Agreed - that would be a valuable addition and should not be too hard to do.

quickFilters 4.0 prerelease 12

Here is the very first official hybrid web-extension / legacy extension
containing the requested feature.

To activate it open quickFilters options, Actions tab

under Merge Rules, activate [x] Add new rules on top of list
