Tab Context Menus close prematurely

I love QuickFolders, but am having a terrible time using the context menus to make my selections. I right click on a tab, the context menu drops down and before I can make a selection I lose it. If I do happen to be able to get down into the context menu where another one opens to the right, as show in the screenshot, once again before I can move my cursor over to select I lose it. I've never had this happen before; only when using QuickFolders on my laptop. Windows 10 Home, 64-bit.

That is strange, haven't heard of this one before. You say that the menu closes after a short while, does it even close when you stop moving the mouse? Try the latest version from [Bug 26571] https://quickfolders.org/bugzilla/bugs/attachment.cgi?id=8504 and disable the QuickFolders Commands menu through Advanced Tab » Menu Configuration » QF Commands (right hand side). That link given to try the new version: Tab opens for a split second and then closes. I've tried over and over. I even tried copying and pasting it into the address bar and same thing happened. I have version 4.10. I don't have a plug-in mouse. I downloaded that Console and when I tried to install in Thunderbird it said can't do because it's not compatible. I feel like a real idiot, but I can't seem to follow these instructions at all. Is there supposed to be some kind of button that says "Disable" for that QuickFolder Commands Menu (because there is none), or are you meaning to uncheck everything in that menu? >>>>>> I just tried something because of what you said about the trackpad and interpreting mouse movements as clicks. In reply to comment #5: To install (or upgrade) an extension in Thunderbird: 1. Make sure you have downloaded the XPI somewhere on your hard disk (e.g. by using "Save Link As…" after right-clicking the link in your browser). 2. Open the Add-ons Manager. 3. Near the top, there is a button which looks like a cogwheel. Click that. 4. A rolldown menu opens. Select "Install Add-on from File…" 5. A file selector popup menu opens. Browse to the XPI and click it. 6. An "are you sure" popup opens; the "Install Now" button is greyed-out at first, but after a few seconds you can click it. 7. Thunderbird installs the (new version of the) add-on, then tells you that you will have to restart the application to complete the upgrade. 8. Restart Thunderbird.
P.S. Console² has not been updated in a long time, it doesn't know about recent versions of Thunderbird. But that can be helped. 1. An XPI is just a zip with a different name. You may have to temporarily rename it (to e.g. console2.zip) in order to unpack it. 2. After unpacking it, edit the install.xpi. Find the <maxVersion> or <em:maxVersion> for SeaMonkey (in the <targetApplication> block for <em:id>{92650c4d-4b8e-4d2a-b7eb-24ecf4f6b63a}</em:id>). Change the maxVersion value to something equal or greater than the Thunderbird version you're using. 3. Repack the zipfile, then rename it back to console2.xpi 4. Now it will install.
oops... Imeant install.rdf, not install.xpi
P.P.S. I really need some coffee. For Thunderbird, the relevant <targetApplication> block is the one for <em:id>{3550f703-e582-4d05-9a08-453d09bdfdc6}</em:id>. That set of hex digits and dashes is the "internal name" by which the mailer knows itself.
Sorry, Tony. I very much appreciate your time and advice, but I don't have the computer knowledge to follow the kind of information you are giving me. So I an only say thank the Lord that the simple act of changing mouse pads seemed to have worked. I wonder if you would have a simple solution of another extension, Theme Font and Size Changer for Thunderbird. I really NEED this extension, but can't make it work on my laptop. It works on my old desktop. I got no errors while installing, but I can't reach the settings where I would be able to change font sizes. The extension shows up under Tools/Add-On Options. When I click it I get a little window labeled "Preferences" where I can check the boxes beside 3 options: Hide Tools Menu; Hide App Menu; Abbreviate Toolbar Button text.

Sorry I don't know anything about "Theme and Font sizer". It's hard enough supporting my own Add-ons (quickFilters, QuickFolders, SmartTemplate⁴, QuickPasswords, Zombie Keys, Menu On Top)
I learned a lot through this post. For instance, I did not know anything about these "channels" for updates in Firefox/Thunderbird. I now have version 52.9.1 of Thunderbird, and my Theme Font & Size Changer extension works. Thank you for the help and knowledge you shared.
