There are a couple of problems with signatures in the current version, can you
try the latest prerelease 0.9 pre250? It is located at:

http://downloads.mozdev.org/smarttemplate4

Hi

I'm still having trouble with duplicate signatures. When I first open up
Thunderbird and click "Write", only one signature appears at the bottom of the
message. If I click "Reply" then later on click "Write", two signatures appear
at the bottom. I'm running Thunderbird 16.0.2 on Windows 7, with SmartTemplate4
0.9pre281 as my only add-on. The problem also occurs for me with 0.9pre250.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Which locale (language) are you using? Chinese or simplified chinese? I can
attach a patched version but some of the translations are incomplete, so I need
to know beforehand.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm using English, no unusual characters (unless
the "|" vertical separater counts).

smartTemplate 0.9.2 prerelease 124

The latest and greatest version, should work fine as regards singatures.

Please note that in the new version the quote header and the template are
separate texts to simplify the placement of the Email parts.

I'm afraid this version doesn't work for me. If I click Write, no signature is
present at all. If I click Reply, the signature is included, but it no longer
wraps to fit the email window. Also, the cursor starts off at the end of the
email rather than at the beginning.

I have the following in the Quote Header window (the Template window is empty):

---
From: %from%
Sent: %X:=sent%  %datelocal%
To: %to%
Subject: %subject%

1. what are your settings in account under signature? If you are using an
attached signature make sure to uncheck the [x] Use HTML setting (even though
it is grayed out)
2. are you using the %sig% variable?
3. please check your tools > error console for any errors / warnings that occur
when you click on [reply]. Also, to simplify you should install console2 in
order to enable copying the errors as text to clipboard.
4. For quicker trouble shooting, would it be able to do a screen sharing
session on join.me?

1. My signature is directly typed into the box in Account Settings (not
attached), and the use HTML box is unchecked (and was beforehand).
2. I'm not using %sig%, I don't know what this variable does.
3. In the error console I get the following repeated warning:

Warning: XUL box for _moz_generated_content_before element contained an inline
#text child, forcing all its children to be wrapped in a block.
Source file: chrome://messenger/content/messenger.xul

Or the same warning with
Source file: chrome://messenger/content/messengercompose/messengercompose.xul

Clicking Write and Reply seem to intermittently bring up these errors, although
I can't see a proper link between them. If I go into the SmartTemplate Options,
the following errors occur:

Warning: Error in parsing value for 'vertical-align'. Declaration dropped.
Source file: chrome://smarttemplate4/skin/default/style.css
Line: 187
 ----------
Warning: Error in parsing value for 'vertical-align'. Declaration dropped.
Source file: chrome://smarttemplate4/skin/default/style.css
Line: 193
 ----------
Warning: Error in parsing value for 'padding-top'. Declaration dropped.
Source file: chrome://smarttemplate4/skin/default/style.css
Line: 217

I hope this is of some help.

4. Thanks, I will try and contact you later.

sorry but your logs are not helpful.
If you see something like
"Error: chrome://smartTemplate4/content/xxx.js"
the .js ending is important then we can find the problem but the logs which you
have note are simple css errors and errors of thunderbird self (not unusual).
It will be great if you can help Axel to find the Problem on your Computer with
screen sharing...
we have test this thousands of time and in all have worked well, we must find
the problem if really an problem exists
