Add an option to automatically run a newly created / merged filter to the filter assistant if the filter list is not displayed as last step of the filter assistant workflow. Once the filter is successfully created (either in complete silent mode when Filter rules and filter list are *not* shown, or after editing the filter in filter rules and clicking [Ok] with the filter list being omitted, automatically run the filter so that it applies to all matching emails in the current folder. Note: if the email was dragged to a different folder, we need to make sure it runs on the originating Inbox.
Created an attachment (id=8616) [details] 3.11 prerelease 9 Test version with the new Auto Run options added. It will run the successfully created filter after clicking [Ok] on the filter rules dialog; it will (attempt to) run it on the inbox folder that it came from originally. It will only executed the filter if the filter list is not displayed. Note we still want to fix the problem of ignoring the alphabetical filter order [Bug 26653] when the filter list is not shown during creation. This prerelease version only has complete English and German locales, I am still waiting for my translators to come forth with some translations for the other languages - don't try in other locales like French or Italian, it will not work!
Created an attachment (id=8617) [details] 3.11 prerelease 14 Added the fix from [Bug 26653] which also implements automatic alphabetical ordering for the new filter, even when the filter lists is not displayed. All full locales included in this one so you can run it on any language version of Thunderbird.
Inplemented in Version 3.11 - Released April 4, 2019
