Do you know you can attach a full resolution screen shot to the bug? Looks to
me like you have a broken locale, what language is your Thunderbird in?

I managed to open the image on chrome (which has less security settings) and it
looks like you have an italian Thunderbird.

In the italian locale Babelzilla the following strings contain < and >:

<!ENTITY pref_html.label "Utilizza il codice HTML (es: <b>bold</b>)">
<!ENTITY pref_rep_br.label "Sostituisci con <br>">
<!ENTITY pref_rep_br.cap "Attivando l&apos;opzione verrĂ  sostituito con <br>,
ad eccezione dei casi in cui segue il codice HTML contenente <br>">

this causes the error. The fix is relatively trivial: encode the < and >
characters as &lt; and &gt; (lower than and greater than)

Unfortunately Babelzilla (our translation portal) converts these encoded
entities back to < and > which means any time we update the translations, (and
ultimately any time we publish a new version), we have to replace all these
again manually, which is a lot of work... I haven't got around to logging a bug
on Babelzilla, but I feel I really should - or not use Babelzilla anymore and
only have an English version of smartTemplate4 :(

A version with fixed italian locale

Here is a version where the italian locale is fixed, after the fashion
described above. Please see if this helps!
